A large European consultancy is currently very active across South America and looking to strengthen their teams with the addition of senior and experienced Engineering Geologists who specialise in the construction of Hydropower projects.
Ideal candidates will come from a Geological background with good experience of tunnelling, TBM, rock mechanics and tunnel re-enforcements. They will have worked internationally with consulting engineering companies and be able to demonstrate a track record of working in varied locations, with large hydropower projects delivered on time and effectively.
Experience should include site investigation and consulting functions across projects, particularly with tunnel re-enforcement and hard rock tunnelling methods. The role will be responsible for all specialist geological works at site and will report into the Project Manager/Director.
Spanish language is a benefit however the contract language is English so this is the essential criteria. A degree (or equivelent) in geology will also be required with masters or equivelent beneficial.
The role will involve a mixture of site based supervision and construction management, and office based project planning and methodologies. Site activities will be key with construction supervision and site investigation making up a large portion of the duties.
The role will be on a long term (1-2+ years) contract and will likely progress into other projects upon mutual agreement.
Roles are due to start in August or so however this is a live requirement. Salaries and packages are dependent on experience and suitability to the JD.
