They are specialist in Geotechnical civil engineering (design) providing geotechnical services, advice, design of ground improvements, site investigations, geotechnical interpretations, analysis, design and construction advice.
Our client now has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer with 12 months experience.
The types of projects you will be involved In is Emirates new development, Bus routes for cities, high rise buildings, tunnels, and near shore structures.
MSc Geotechnical Engineering
M-Eng Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Good knowledge of the ground engineering industry.
- You will be technically minded in geotechnical engineering
Our client has specialist knowledge of modern ground improvements and construction techniques to enable the projects to not only proceed, but to proceed in timely and cost effective manner therefore you will be involved in research and develop of new techniques to help the clients overcome challenging conditions, develop strong relationships and a team approach with leading specialist contractors.
You will have some knowledge of the following – Soil Anchors, soil nailing, dowels, fore poling, rock bolts, rock anchors, and rock cable bolts.
You will be involved in ground improvements include grouting, dewatering, freezing, ground replacement including jet grouting, dynamic replacement, and preloading techniques. Comprehensive ground models commencing with the collection of data through desk top studies, and geomorphological assessment’s supplemented by;
- Ground investigations
- In situ testing
- Groundwater modelling
- Collection of samples for laboratory testing
Geotechnical interpretation is fundamental in understanding how engineering and construction will impact on site. This goes beyond the extrapolation of factual data to overlaying geological models as well as applying local knowledge. The results of the geotechnical interpretation are used in tandem with each client’s individual needs to provide relevant advice and tailored solutions.
Our client use a range of analytical techniques to identify the specific geotechnical design requirements and specifications needed for construction activities.
Advanced numerical technology such as finite element analysis and boundary element analysis is followed up by methods that check and verify our analyses to provide accurate and reliable data to clients.
Where needed, they develop new methods or modify existing analytical methods to improve the quality of the solutions we develop for our clients.
Geotechnical design needs to consider the properties of the ground and the impact infrastructure will have on the surface and sub-surface.
