As a multi-national advisory and design consultancy with a global workforce our client creates award winning solutions for the transport, utilities, property and environmental sectors whilst currently building skills and capabilities in two emerging sectors; energy and resources.

Their Geotechnical team is involved in some of the UK’s most high profile, complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. Their client portfolio includes the Highways Agency, Transport for London, Local Authorities, the Environment Agency, Canal & Rivers Trust, Water Companies, Network Rail and selected Civil Engineering Contractors for whom they undertake the planning, design and supervision of geotechnical engineering solutions including, managed motorways, harbours, ports, water treatment plants, reservoirs, rail electrification, station upgrades and structures across a wide range of geological conditions. 

Due to an increase in workload they now have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer with 1/2 years’ experience to work on major projects.


B-Eng – Civil Engineering or MSc/M-Eng in Geotechnical Engineering.

Job Description

You will have geotechnical design experience including foundations (shallow and piled), retaining walls and slope stability assessment experience. Knowledge of planning, supervising and designing elements of a project together with examples of applying standards and technical knowledge in projects. Experience in earthworks design, specification and implementation, ground investigations, design and implementation including geotechnical software – WALLAP, SLIDE, REPUTE and SlopeW.

As a geotechnical engineer you will manage projects from inception to completion, take responsibility for managing subcontractors and communicate effectively to contractors. You will prepare geotechnical calculations, drawings, specification reports, and other project documentation. Assist and participate in technical issues and relevant H&S regulations.
