A well established FM and building services provider seek to appoint an Energy Infrastructure Manager on a permanent basis on a static hard services site in central London.

Purpose ensure Maintenance, processes and procedures are adhered too and robust and the following assets and plant are mobilised and managed in line with the hard service contract, ensuring statutory compliance issues are identified, our compliance organised recorded and evidenced.

Key Plant:
Incoming mains power, the Combined Heat and Power plant, standby emergency generators, HV switchgear, waste heat and gas boilers, primary steam systems, calorifiers, absorption chiller and adiabatic coolers.
Essential technical competencies for the Energy Infrastructure Manager role:
Successful experience of controlling critical assets with high operational consequence.
Technical expertise in similar critical systems and process management in a complex environment.
HNC or equivalent (M&E),and/ or minimum of 5 years' experience in M & E
Experience in dealing with sub-contractors and supply chain
Engineering degree in a relevant subject (Electrical/M&E/B&CE), or ideally experience in Facilities Management preferably with an M&E background
Excellent people management skills


Desirable qualities of the Energy Infrastructure Manager:
Successful experience of negotiations with clients and exercising diplomacy
Commercial experience of managing budgets and supplier negotiations.
Operational understanding of facilities maintenance and building services within a client focused environment

Energy Infrastructure Manager responsibilities:

Delivery of operational preparedness and faultless operation in the event of power failures.
Management of Energy Infrastructure planned maintenance delivery and life-cycle programme.
Management of reactive maintenance delivery and incidental/extra works
Development of a plant management strategy, providing demonstrable operational benefits aiding the compilation of the Forward Maintenance Register.
Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the plant and assets.
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
Responsibility for the allocated day engineers (and at times shift working staff), including recruitment, selection, training/development of staff and succession planning.
Ensure application of Continuous Improvement Techniques within the specialist area.
Contract resource/budget management and drive out efficiencies and generate savings and best value solutions
Responsible for performance reporting against contractual performance indicators and awareness of recovery system
