Trackwork Construction Expert

An Internationally recognised consultant is looking for a Trackwork expert for the construction of the tracks for light rail train system in Qatar. The consultancy is taking this project from conception through to operation. This Track construction expert will have experience of concrete slab track construction supervision in a construction management consultancy

The area of responsibility contains the following tasks:

ƒÞ management of local site supervisors Railway Infrastructure
ƒÞ coordination and advising of Contractors
ƒÞ review and approval railway infrastructure working procedure
ƒÞ reporting (e.g. progress reports, monthly reports, financial reports)
ƒÞ review of Contractor`s proposals for compliance with the technical requirements
ƒÞ supervising works in progress for confirmation of quality standards, safety, construction manner, and installation practices
ƒÞ review of design and supporting documents
ƒÞ site supervision
ƒÞ evaluation and approval of different Slab track systems
ƒÞ cost benefit calculation of ballast less track systems
ƒÞ definition and review of track maintenance concept
ƒÞ cost analysis in terms of long life system warranties

Education and Experience:
ƒÞ Dipl.-Eng. (TH/TU) or equivalent Degree of M.Sc. in Civil Engineering
ƒÞ at least 10 years of experience as Railway Engineer (planning and site supervision)
ƒÞ 5 years experience with ballast less track different systems
ƒÞ experience with high axle loads and/or high speed lines
ƒÞ utilization of MS-Office and project management software (e.g. MS-Project, Primavera)
ƒÞ used to work as professional head in design or consultancy or construction of railway projects
ƒÞ ability of leading a team
ƒÞ strong organizing and coordination capability
ƒÞ above-average physical and psychical capacity
ƒÞ ability of working abroad in multicultural teams
ƒÞ customer focus
ƒÞ ability of working under extreme climate conditions
ƒÞ excellent knowledge of English (able to conduct business fluently, spoken and written)
ƒÞ prepared to relocate to china or to work worldwide
