About the Business
The award winning Tunneling Practice has a large and increasing project portfolio of works including Thames Tunnel, Crossrail, TCR and Bond Street Station upgrades, National Grid Cable Tunnels as well as many others. We are looking to expand the Tunnelling Practice in the next 4 years to exploit the exciting opportunities anticipated in the global tunnelling market
Description and Desired Qualifications
We are seeking experienced Tunnel Design Engineers to undertake project work involving all elements of underground structure design / construction issues, providing technical input within that field as part of a multi-disciplinary team, or working seperately on particular aspects of underground structure design/construction providing high quality advice to the CH2M HILL team & clients. There would also be the need to support bids with technical and other input.
Candidates will exhibit a range of technical and some managerial capabilities with knowledge in either bored tunnel design, cut & cover design, stations and shafts in soft ground or rock conditions. You will be capable of producing design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance and refurbishment of tunnels and associated structures.
Experience of Rail and London Underground projects would be an advantage

Bachelor or Masters in one of the following disciplines Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Tunnel Engineering. Experience of tunnel design or construction and a desire to be developed as a specialist Tunnel Engineer.
Candidates will be Chartered or approaching Chartered status with a relevant professional body.
