Wastewater Modellers / Sewerage Engineers in Derby
My client is looking for three experienced Wastewater Modellers / Sewerage Engineers to work alongside Severn Trent Water at their Derby offices on AMP6 projects and beyond.
Reporting directly to the Severn Trent Water Sewerage Network Manager, you will be working within the co-located project offices, supporting and developing junior colleagues whilst advising your peers and other specialist areas on complex, often bespoke multi-disciplinary projects.
With a varied and interesting workload your day will consist of providing leadership for a small group of sewerage network specialists, undertaking feasibility studies for improvements and repairs to existing sewerage networks, outline design for new sewerage networks, site visits to obtain date on existing assets, as well as liaising with external clients and agencies such as the Highways Agency, Planning Authorities and Power Supply Companies etc.
Much of our work is spent within multi-disciplinary teams, therefore the ability to engage and build relationships with both internal and external clients is fundamental to the role, as is diplomacy and the ability to exchange accurate information. Providing support to the skills and technical leaders, you will also contribute to the creative design process while delivering creative engineering excellence to all our clients.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:-
Good leadership skills·
Excellent technical knowledge of and experience of designs within the water industry·
Working to design standards within the UK water industry·
Good knowledge of water and waste water processes·
Knowledge of working in multi-disciplinary teams to demanding programmes·
Strong understanding of water maintenance and operations·
Good specialist software knowledge·
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strong accent on relationship building·
Good understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Health & Safety process
Likely to be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject·
Charted Status with a relevant, recognised professional body.
Desirable skills and knowledge:·
Knowledge of working within both Contractor and Design organisations·
Experience of Severn Trent design standards
