Essentially the successful candidate will have reasonable knowledge and experience, within the ground improvement industry, in order to be able to interpret ground investigation reports and produce estimates.
In addition, candidates will need to have the natural ability to easily build rapport with people and have the confidence and skills to fulfil the client liaison element of this role and represent the company by supporting the sales and operations teams when necessary at client meetings, trade shows and exhibitions.
We anticipate that interested parties will either have a civil engineering degree or be qualified through experience. Due to the nature of the role, individuals will require a full driving licence and the flexibility and confidence to travel to off site meetings as required.
Undertake and manage design and tender activities within the team ensuring that estimates are delivered in such a manner that maximises the potential to obtain the order. Ensure design and tender documents produced from within the team are checked.
Ensure that all enquiries and orders are acknowledged promptly.
Ensure profit growth through effective tendering and management of the work in the North West GI Area.
Undertake tender appraisals in line with the company QA system.
Monitor and achieve / exceed set budget for the North West office. Assist in the production of key financial data, ensuring that this is provided within set timescales.
Ensure good liaison between disciplines and departments. Seek opportunities for cross selling products.
Undertake hand over to Contracts Manager on a one-stop basis thus minimising ongoing operational involvement.
Where required assist the team in day to day activities particularly in respect of disputes or problems and design changes.
Take a full and active part in the personal Appraisal and Development process.
Ensure compliance with all safety and statutory obligations including all QMS activity.
To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures including (but not limited to); Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, Equality & Drug & Alcohol Policy in addition to working in line with the appropriate Work Instruction Documents.
Where required provide coordination for specific, large projects at pretender and other meetings. This will include the coordination of the production of subsequent tenders.
Maintain and improve the professional and progressive image of the Company.
Speak to clients and offer advice on enquires and estimates submitted.
Produce contract booking forms when order is secured.
Geotechnical liaison with NHBC and other regulatory bodies.
Report weekly estimating figures to Discipline Manager.
When required carrying out site visits and assist with operations on specific projects.
