This is a opportunity to work for a major logistics company. Their development team creates logistics concepts for both new and existing Customers to improve their supply chain performance.
A key part of this process involves the design, specification and costing of the fit out element of both existing and new properties, including warehouses and associated buildings. This will be carried out initially at a conceptual level in support of the Business Development tender process, but if the project is successful, then later, at a more detailed level in the build up to implementation.
The key objective of the role is to ensure that the Business Development teams have a 'fit out solution' which is robust, workable, deliverable, and accurately costed.
- Visits to the existing or new site(s), and through close liaison with the Business Development and Operations teams, the role will provide input to operational layouts, and provision of fit out specifications, including provisional cost estimates to support initial tenders to Customers.
-Work with external partners to provide appropriate property and fit out advice on planning, regulations, compliance, leading practice and costs will be required.
-Manage and communicate fit out projects' progress, risks and issues, escalations and facilitate resolutions where required. Liaise and / or co-manage projects with Customers in some instances
-College Education or relevant work experience
-A formal qualification in engineering, ideally estimating and or facilities management
-Strong background in warehouse design, fit out specifications and costings
-General understanding of Third party Logistics
-Experience of managing and influencing internal and external customers at all levels
-Construction industry experience preferable
-Strong influencing and persuasion skills
-Experience of civil and/or mechanical projects
-Warehouse storage and handling knowledge
-Relevant legislation and best practice in HSE
The right candidate needs to be geographically mobile in the UK, have a valid UK Licence, and be able to work flexible hours.
