Our client is currently seeking an experienced Intelligent Transport Services Senior Engineer to join a busy and highly skilled department based in Winchester. The scope of the Intelligent Transport Services Senior Engineer role will be to Undertake feasibility, preliminary and detailed design of traffic signal junctions, signalised crossings and other intelligent transport systems to required timescales and budgets to deliver the objectives of the clients Local Transport Plan and provide an enhanced travelling experience for the public.
As part of the role you will be expected to enhance the transport network through the provision traffic signals and other ITS systems and infrastructure to agreed project programmes, budgets and policy guidelines.
As a core member of the team, your success is driven by your proven track record within the industry and your desire to progress your career through driving the business forward. The ideal candidate will be HNC / Degree qualified. You will also have the ability to use LINSIG version 3 and TRANSYT 12 or later software along with Autocad, KeySignals and AutoTrack software.
Furthermore experience with MOVA design, SCOOT UTC design, commissioning traffic signals, signalised crossings and Arcady 8 software would be desirable.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a Senior ITS Engineer to work on a variety of projects on a long-term contract basis with the genuine opportunity to progress their career. The client is looking for candidates who are available immediately although they would be flexible depending on the candidate.
Key Skills
Accurate numerical, analytical, data handling skills.
Knowledge of the current design standards for traffic signals and signalised crossings.
Ability to prepare and write feasibility reports.
Knowledge of Traffic Engineering concepts.
At least five years relevant experience in traffic signal design and implementation.
