Director, Major Projects South
The Highways Agency network covers some 7,000 kilometres and serves 4 million vehicles every day. We are a £2.5 billion infrastructure business with many challenges and opportunities ahead of us. We need to derive ever increasing value from our expenditure, which will mean taking new approaches to the way in which we maintain, operate and enhance the strategic road network. Our interventions on the network affect almost every UK citizen, attract a high degree of scrutiny from customers, Ministers and the media, and with an investment programme growing in excess of £1 billion per annum, will help to enable economic growth. We are seeking senior, highly skilled and commercially minded individuals to join our leadership team to drive this forward.
Our Major Projects Directorate is responsible for overseeing our new development programmes. These next-generation projects range from £10 million to over £300 million in scale, and timely delivery is essential to maintaining viable transport systems in the region. You will help us build real and lasting partnerships and embed a change in culture that moves us from project to active programme management. You must bring a leadership track record in the field of major projects or investment programmes.
Closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 28th May 2012.
The Highways Agency is an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity and we positively encourage applications from all sections of the community. We operate a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled people who meet the minimum criteria.
