Fletcher Construction, through its Earthquake Recovery Division (EQR), has been appointed by the Earthquake Commission to manage residential repairs in the Canterbury region. Fletcher Construction is part of the Fletcher Building Group, one of New Zealand’s largest employers.
A central office has been established in Christchurch with a number of localised hub offices and construction teams based in the Canterbury community, dedicated to the task of completing domestic and residential repair work.
To support the ongoing expansion of the operational activities, we are building an internal engineering resource to develop cost effective repair strategies for earthquake damaged properties. The framework for this team has been put in place and we are now looking to increase our local capability by actively recruiting skilled and suitably experienced structural engineers from off shore to complete this team.
As such we are inviting applications from two different levels of structural engineers.
• We have up to three vacancies for Chartered Level Structural Engineers
• We have five + vacancies for those not yet chartered but with at least 12 months of post graduate experience.
Successful candidates will offer the following:
• A suitable tertiary level qualification in structural engineering
• Design experience (preferably of building structures)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High levels of empathy and a commitment to make a difference
• Strong interpersonal skills
These vacancies will suit those with a desire to relocate their families and make New Zealand their long term home. They will also suit those who meet the ‘working holiday visa’ requirements and are keen to live and work in New Zealand for a few years.
This is an exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity to make a significant and long-lasting difference towards the Canterbury rebuild.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered, together with all the many benefits that apply to employees of Fletcher Building Ltd.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply by visiting www.fbcareers.com reference FB/721700 or for further information please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We kindly request that you attach a cover letter to your application briefly outlining your interest and suitably for our structural vacancies.
