Add power to your career…
National Grid’s job is to connect people to the energy they use. Society relies on having energy at its fingertips, and we own and manage the grids to which so many different energy sources are connected.
There has never been a more exciting time to join the power industry. We’re investing £16bn during the next nine years, delivering major projects that will secure the energy supply for future generations.
Our Project Management and Development training programme is central to these projects as we refurbish and replace existing infrastructure to focus on sustainable construction for the future and alternative technologies.
Project Management & Development Training Programme
Developing graduates who already have some work experience, this programme is designed to make sure our Project and Development Officers are perfectly equipped to deliver on all our construction plans - particularly in electricity transmission.
The programme incorporates classroom and practical training, including travelling to different project sites. You’ll develop technical knowledge as well as project management and development expertise and specialist experience of the energy sector.
Once you complete the two-year programme you’ll be qualified to work in either a Project Officer or a Development Officer role and you’ll be part of the team delivering projects across our capital plan. These will range in size and complexity, but each will pose its own unique challenges.
We are looking for graduates with...
• a minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematical discipline.
• a minimum of one year of work experience (in any role will be considered and this could include experience from a placement during your degree course)
• a full driving licence (or expecting to pass your test within the next 4 months)

Deadline for applications is Monday 9th April 2012 at midday but we would encourage you to apply as soon as possible as we’re recruiting on an ongoing basis.
Our working environment fully values the diversity of people.
